This video shows the power of Crew culture and structure building belonging and agency at 21 EL Education schools across the country. I produced, directed and edited the film, conducted the main interviews, and shot many of the scenes.
Make The World Better
I concepted, directed and edited this this music video with EL Education students across the country during the COVID19 crisis while in physical isolation. It was made in two weeks in order to celebrate Better World Day, a day on which EL Education students contribute to their communities. Co-produced with Katie Schneider. Better world day in brooklyn: Growing a movement
I directed and did cinematography on this short video about middle school students at Launch Expeditionary Learning School in Brooklyn, NY. Students worked to end hunger in their community by partnering with the Campaign Against Hunger to plant at two Brooklyn farm sites and stock a local food pantry. Their collaboration with the Campaign sparked them to write letters to local officials to advocate for healthier food options in their schools.
Short Documentary: Walking in Solidarity
I created this short documentary in collaboration with David Grant and Katie Schneider at EL Education.
In the wake of a hate crime, students at Casco Bay High School in Portland, Maine, host a walk in solidarity to support those who were affected. This video shows how structures like Crew, Courageous Conversations, and a curriculum that focuses on social justice, foster a culture in which students are prepared to act, not just react.
